It is one of the biggest and most controversial experiments to be carried out in recent times. On September 10, a machine, Large Hadron Collider (LHC), will be fired up to recapture conditions not seen since the birth of the universe almost 14 billion years ago.

The LHC, located at CERN, a Geneva-based nuclear research lab, will carry on the experiment inside a 27-km tunnel deep beneath the French-Swiss border.

The news of the experiment has evoked resentment from some experts, who feel that such an experiment could cause the end of the universe.

The Large Hadron Collider will fire particles around the tunnel. It will then smash protons -- one of the building blocks of matter -- into each other at energies up to seven times greater than ever achieved.

Sabzi Polo Mahi: The New Year's day traditional meal is called Sabzi Polo Mahi, which is rice with green herbs served with fish. The traditional seasoning for Sabzi Polo are parsley, coriander, chives, dill and fenugreek.
Reshteh Polo: rice cooked with noodles which is said to symbolically help one succeed in life.
Dolme Barg : A traditional dish of Azeri people, cooked just before the new year. It includes some vegetables, meat and cotyledon which have been cooked and embedded in vine leaf and cooked again. It is considered useful in reaching to wishes.
Kookoo sabzi : Herbs and vegetable souffle, traditionally served for dinner at New Year. A light and fluffy omelet style made from parsley, dill, coriander, spinach, spring onion ends, and chives, mixed with eggs and walnut.

Tomorrow, February 7th, 2008 is the first day of the year of the rat, according to the Chinese lunar calender. Tonight, New Year’s Eve, families will gather for the biggest holiday season it called reunion dinner. Fireworks will light up the sky all through the night and continuing for the rest of the week. Families will enjoy a big dinner together and watch special TV shows with China’s top performers. In some ways, the Chinese Spring Festival can be compared to the Christmas season, as it is a real family holiday. The Spring Festival ends two weeks later (this year on February 21) with the Lantern Festival.
For some people, this will be the only time in the year that they can get together with their families.
This reminds me Norouz in Iran.

Are you a procrastinator,constantly daydreaming and goofing off? Cut it out. Go to work with an attitude that you are here to ..... that's right, work.
Get things done promptly so that you can go home instead of staying on for several extra hours in the evening to finish what you should have done in the morning .
If you are done for the day, leave. Forget about looking good to your boss by putting in unpaid overtime. If your manager thinks that only employees who stay late are good employees, make an appointment for a one-to-one meeting where you can list your projects and discuss how efficiently you have been working.
Remember that in some countries, employees who don't leave the office at five on the dot are perceived as incompetent individuals who can't cope with their work.

Its a funny movie but I didn't like it as much as i did Bruce...but this is my first movie experience in a normal theater, so far I have been going to the Gold Class movie in Vivocity or Great World City.

Many individuals do not realize that there are two types of goals. There are outcome goals that give you direction, such as: being happy, having a good education, being married, having children, having a job you love, having money, owning a house, car, and etc. What are even more important are process goals, which include the dedication and hard work required to achieve your outcome goals.

Living the Daily Affirmation is both an outcome goal and a process. It is a process that will increase your natural abilities and create attractor fields that will help you to achieve all of your outcome goals that are aligned with the big picture.

The delivery man was supposed to collect a CD from me for a company today. He rang the bell, when I opened the door with the CD in my hand I saw a man with helmet talking on the phone, he took the CD and rushed towards the lift while I was asking him that whether he came from the company !

Sushi is a food made of vinegared rice combined with other ingredients, often seafood. Most, but not all, fish used in sushi is uncooked, but other ingredients may be cooked, smoked, sauteed, or marinated.

I tried my first sushi with my Japanese friend yesterday. It was strange but tasty I think it's healthy food and it's quiet popular in singapore.

Colbar is run by Lim's family since 1948. They live in the area .The Colbar is not fancy but definitely has charm and atmosphere. The interior is painted blue and cream and the walls are adorned with old posters of English football clubs and military regiments. No reservations are required and seating is open. The tables are not bolted to the floor and most people eating at Colbar prefer to eat outside and are free to carry a table outside, place it in the grass and enjoy the sunset and cooler temperatures of the evening.

Inside there is no air conditioning, only ceiling fans, and hot air escapes via the old style grills located where the ceiling meets the walls, a feature common in most colonial-era buildings. A favorite on the menu is the chicken curry but many expats order the more continental fare of steak and chips or susage and fish. The chicken curry costs S$7 which is more than a normal hawker center meal but people continue to come to enjoy the ambiance and surroundings of the Colbar.

Haft Sîn or the seven 'S's is a major tradition of Norouz. The haft sin table includes seven items specific starting with the letter S or Sîn (س) in Persian alphabet). The items symbolically correspond to seven creations and holy immortals protecting them. The Haft Sin has evolved over time, but has kept its symbolism. Traditionally, families attempt to set as beautiful a Haft Sîn table as they can, as it is not only of traditional and spiritual value, but also noticed by visitors during Norouzi visitations and is a reflection of their good taste.
The Haft Sin items are:
sabzeh -Wheat or Lentil sprouts growing in a dish - symbolizing rebirth
samanu - a sweet pudding made from Wheat germ - symbolizing affluence
senjed - the dried fruit of the oleaster tree - symbolizing love
sîr -Garlic - symbolizing medicine
sîb - Apples - symbolizing beauty and health
somaq - Sumac berries - symbolizing (the color of) sunrise
serkeh -Vinegar - symbolizing age and patience
While traditionally incorrect, sometimes a missing Sin is exchanged with another item starting with an S. For example:
sonbol - the fragrant Hyacinth flower (the coming of spring)
sekkeh -Coins (prosperity and wealth)
Other items on the table may include:
traditional Iranian pastries such as baghlava, toot, naan-nokhodchi
dried nuts, berries and raisins (Aajeel)
lit Candles (enlightenment and happiness)
a Mirror
Decorated eggs, sometimes one for each member of the family (fertility)
a bowl with Goldfish (life, and the sign of Pisces which the sun is leaving)
a holy book (e.g., the Quran) and/or a poetry book (almost always either the Shahnama or the Divan of Hafez)
